Join in with this year's "Splash" on 27 August 2012

This year's "Splash for Cash" takes place at Les Mielles Golf and Country Club on 27 August 2012 - August Bank Holiday Monday - and is open to teams of four golfers.

Splash for Cash will be raising funds for Jersey Friends of Anthony Nolan, the Jersey Kidney Patients Association, and the Oncology Department at the General Hospital. Since it started in 1994, Splash for Cash has raised £189,000 for local charities. Once again, green fees have been waived by Les Mielles Golf and Country Club.

The format of the charity golf open is a Stableford competition over 18 holes. Over £800 worth in prizes is available for:

• The team and individuals (lady and gent) with the highest number of points.
• The players getting the ball nearest to the pins on all par 3s.
• The player getting the ball nearest to the string on hole 13.
• The player raising the most money.

Re-cycled golf balls will also be on sale, collected from ponds around the golf course and cleaned for sale. It is this "splash" that the charity golf open is named after.

In the evening, there will be a barbecue at 8pm for golfers and their friends and families and a raffle.

This year, we are grateful to Mr Richard Brocken for sponsoring the cost of prizes for teams and individuals with the highest number of points. We're also grateful to CI Engravers, Computershare and ASL Recruitment for sponsoring hole competitions, including prizes for shots nearest to the pins on all par 3s and nearest the target on the 1st hole.
